The introduction of ChatGPT has revolutionized the user experience across various professional domains, providing a whole new dimension of capabilities for users with diverse occupations. Whether you're a software developer, marketer, teacher, or healthcare professional, the versatile functionality of ChatGPT opens up new opportunities for enhanced productivity, problem-solving, and collaboration within your specific field. 

Concept

About Site Builder

The site builder provides different widgets with default content. However, users may struggle to articulate what they want while building their page. AI could suggest appropriate content to help users and increase the speed of building pages. We could incorporate Chat GPT's capabilities directly into the site builder instead of switching between the two.

The Challenge

Problem Statement

The process of adding and creating 15-20 widgets per session, and then writing content for each of them, is time-consuming for users. This process often requires creating content from scratch or revisiting existing content written by a team member, which further adds to the time and effort required. This results in a significant drain on user productivity, which can negatively impact the overall user experience.

Make it easier for people to create content and improve existing widget content with the help of AI (GPT 4 capabilities)

Business Goal

To increase user productivity and engagement by leveraging AI (GPT-4 capabilities) to make content creation and improvement more efficient and effective. By providing users with AI-powered tools and features that simplify the content creation process and improve the quality of widget content, we aim to increase user satisfaction and retention, as well as attract new users to the platform.

My Role

Worked as a UX Designer in a team of 4 designers. The timeline of this task was 2 weeks including user research till the initial concept prototype

Research different AI products/ platforms and study how they help users to create content for their needs.

Analyze and evaluate the current capability of the site builder and come up with a few concepts that meet the purpose of the product.

Design Process

Observations
  • How much time does it take for a regular user to create content for a widget?

  • How many users work on the same widgets as a part of the collaboration?
    Usually, 2-3 people work on the pages, one to create a structure, one to write the copy, and one to finalize/ gove approval and publish.

  • What kind of widgets are mostly edited? - Widgets with images and videos, or just text?
    Most people work on text and images.

  • Which part of the widget takes a longer time to finalize? The title, subtitle, description, or buttons? (Descriptive pages where one has to go through multiple iterations to finalize the content.)

Research

Along with these observations, explored products like Notion, miro, WordTune, and QuillBot that help users create content and also understand what functionalities help them write content.

Key takeaways from this research:

1. Users need help with writing content at the widget level while they are editing.

2. Use of other apps forces them to go back and forth to improve writing.

3. Users go through multiple content iterations and approval steps from another person.

Solution

AI Content Generator

The AI Content Generator icon lets users create content with the help of AI y writing the exact prompt, altering it by tone, and changing the length of text, all in one place.

Discovering the feature

The AI Content Generator icon will appear near the text elements in any widget where it is possible to generate text with the help of AI.

Quick actions for a quick start

When users are not sure where to start, the quick actions help them to kickstart the content creation process. These actions help users to rewrite the existing content, make the text shorter or longer or change the tone of the text to match it to the brand's personality.

Generating Content

The AI Content Generator will let users write the exact thing they need by mentioning the words. The generated content can also be altered which gives users complete control over what they want to display.

Users can move the AI Content Generator to the side panel and focus completely on the content they are editing. 

Impact

Content creation became faster and better. Overall reduced time in finalizing the content.

Removed the need of using external content creation apps, resulting in increased platform engagement. 

Overall saved the time in content iterations.
